Art Sandy Springs (ArtSS)

is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2007 by a group of community volunteers and is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive Director.

ArtSS enriches the quality of life for Sandy Springs residents and visitors through the acquisition and placement of public art in the city’s parks and open spaces.  ArtSS also enhances the presence and enjoyment of art in Sandy Springs through the temporary sculpture exhibitions, permanent public art installation, art educational programming and art related events.

ArtSS has been tasked by the City of Sandy Springs with important initiatives as part of the city leaders’ plan to turn Sandy Springs into a “City of the Arts.” ArtSS, in collaboration with the city, created the Art in Public Places plan, formally adopted by City Council in February of 2020.

ArtSS also manages and facilitates classes as the former Abernathy Arts Center through a grant from the city which funds, in part, day to day operations and programming.
